Cards!

Saturday I went to a ‘crop’ (a gathering of scrapbookers) and made cards. I nearly made 12 but one I assembled incorrectly and trashed it. I discovered one was assembled with the opening facing the wrong say (duh). It was a One Sheet Wonder series – where you cut up a piece of double sided paper and create a bunch of cards assembly-line style. I used a layout by Susan Roberts that uses 6″ x 6″ pieces of paper. Here are 4 of my favorites – you can see how similar they are.

More Earflap Hats

I've been knitting more earflap hats.  Including one for the fish above the mantel - which my hubby called ALLURING (pun fully intended)

Itty bitty hats!

Here are some little hats I knitted (knat?) for Red Rose Tea figurines:

And here is an earflap hat for the bobble head Hawaiian dude:

I did a variation on the pattern found here:
Mini Earflap Hat from Miss Aine

Apparently I'm not the only one who likes to make little hats. Check this out:

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Layers

This week's Tuesday Trigger was a dress made of colorful layers. If I was a wearer of dresses - I'd have one just like it. It reminded me of a clamshell quilt (you can see some photos of a clamshell quilt here) - you take a toadstool-ish shape and layer it so it looks scalloped. I used one side of a Stampin' Up tab punch to punch out the approximate shape and layered them sort of like the a clamshell quilt would be. Used my favorite K&Company papers, a little ribbon and my favorite Happy Birthday (to you) stamp from Stampin' Up.

It's kind of difficult to see but the Happy Birthday scallop is on a full tab punchout. I tried half a dozen colors and just couldn't find one that really fit perfectly. This one was nearly perfect - at least when you see it in person. :)

It's a heavy card, but it looks kind of cool.

Chevron Chic Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Here is my entry for the Chevron Chic Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Chevrons are not all that easy to make. I did find some Chevron paper to use as one of the chevron stripes. That would be a chevron chevron.

Stamps are from Close to my Heart. This card is 5" x 7"

Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - Orange Pyrex Bowls

Here's my response to Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger.

Pyrex bowls remind me of baking. Baking involves spoons. The result of baking is often a frosting laden goody.

I believe the stamp is from Papertrey, although it doesn't say anywhere on the case or stamps (that I could see).

Pirate Party Virtual Stamp Night - with darn few piratical creations

This weekend was another virtual stamp night at Splitcoast Stampers.  Go to my gallery for details.  While pirates were the overall theme, pirates weren't necessary to do the challenges.  Because I neglected to clean my workspace enough in advance I didn't have enough time to do ALL the challenges.  See below for the ones I managed to finish:

This was using a technique called spotlighting.  Stamps are from Stampin' Up

This was a color challenge (kraft, aqua and light green).  Stamps are from Stamp Effects (Scrappy Cat)  and Inkadinkado.

The challenge: create a card with three "R"s on it i.e. a color that starts with R, a shape, etc. Here we have a red card with round red cherries, a round tag, raised round cherries (on the black), right-angled eyelets (aka 'squares') and a rounded rectangle (aka 'oval')!   Stamp is from Stampin' Up (one stamp, divided)

This is called a criss-cross card.  The part on the left fits into the part on the right, which is like an open envelope. Stamps are from Hero Arts and Silver Fox Stamps.

This one was to be sea, boat and/or beach related. Stamps are from Stampin' Up.

For this one we were to use a map as the background.  We spent a LOT of time sailing in this area of Michigan.  The stamp is from Silver Fox Stamps.
